Patrick Altes
Born in North Africa from a Franco/Spanish family, I have lived for extensive periods in South America, South Africa, and now the UK.
I am an abstract painter using elements of figuration but I also work on installations and have an affinity for drawing, which has led me to develop work exploring a digital and drawing interface.
My work focuses on the alchemy between consciousness and the unconscious, exploring a personal perception of mythic and archetypal processes that influence a sense of identity, belonging and displacement. I also am very interested the eroding yet evolving relationship between the contemporary world and our deeper humanity.
